Cerebral Palsy Child

By David Austin of Burke-Eisner

Children with cerebral palsy can have many special needs depending on their condition. Children with a more sever case of CP can suffer from behavior problems, mental retardation, and other associated conditions. Children with CP may require may things such as medications, surgeries, long-term care, therapy and more. This can cause a financial strain on families.

Families can get assistance for all the needs required for their child at their local organization dedicated for these services. On the other hand there are families that are entitled to compensation from a source such as a cerebral palsy lawsuit. You need to ask yourself a question.

Was Your Child Harmed by Medical Malpractice?

The main cause of cerebral palsy is the damage done to a developing brain. There are many children that are born with CP and the reasons are unknown though there are known cases of CP that have been diagnosed and could have been prevented if they had the appropriate care. There are many factors that contribute to CP such as:

Lack of oxygen
Pre-term delivery
Infections to a newborn or fetus
Complications during C-section
Seizures

It is not possible to prevent these from happening but there is an obligation that medical professional have. They need to take precautions and respond in a timely manner. So when this obligation isn’t a success they need to be held responsible.

A Cerebral Palsy Lawyer Can Help

A family spends hundreds of thousands of dollars over a child’s lifetime on medical bills, medicine, and care. If you think you child’s condition is due to medical malpractice, you can seek help from a cerebral palsy lawyer.

Keep in mind that there is a statute of limitations on medical malpractice, meaning there is a deadline when filing a lawsuit. Remember to contact a lawyer if you think your child’s cerebral palsy is due to medical malpractice. Know your rights.
